Has there been any discussion or thought about a member being able to subscribe to another member(s), so that when that other member starts requesting tracks into the queue, an email (or text message) is sent?
There might be several parameters that could be required before a member would qualify to receive a subscription from another member. For instance, a member can't be qualified to receive a subscription unless he/she has been a VIP member for X number of days, has at least X number of (public?) favorites, has already made at least X number of requests to the queue, etc. (And perhaps the email isn't sent until at least X number of request have been made by member X in the last X minutes.) Or, it could be as simple as just allowing only VIP members the ability to receive a "DJ@Play Subscription".
This could then be used as a sort of "Hey, a DJ at 1980s.FM, whose music selections I enjoy listening to, has just started feeding the queue", so that they know in the next hour or so, some of the music they like to listen to will be playing on 1980s.FM (or some other 24seven station). |
