Following up on another chat thread... please post some of your favorite 80s board games, and please include pictures, links, etc. if you like. Lesser known games would be excellent. Here are two to start things off: The Dungeon, and Talisman board games:
Dungeon

Although it is original from the 70s I played it a lot in the 80s. Does that count too?
Or do you really want board games from the 80s?
Mastermind

I'm not strict about such things... just fun games from your childhood, and the 1980s... ones that might make a few people say "O yea! That was cool!" for nostalgia's sake. |

Hold on just a minute, Zef. Battletech may have launched in 1984, but your picture (below) shows guys playing Battletech on Heroscape terrain and Heroscape launched in 2004.
By the way (and off topic), Heroscape is the best game ever created !!!
Too bad they stopped making it in 2011.

While rather older than the 80's, it was very popular with kids in the 80's.

Very cool that you collect and paint the miniatures, Zef.
----------------
Most of the games I remember playing as a kid were created in the 70s or earlier.
Besides the popular ones like Chess, Checkers, Risk, Monopoly, Stratego, Mastermind, Othello, Scrabble, Sorry, etc; some of the less popular ones were:
The Sinking of the Titanic
King Oil
Tank Battle
Outdoor Survival
Some games from the 80s that I played:
Kensington (1979)
Balderdash
Castle Risk
Pictionary
Probably a few more. Just go to boardgamegeek.com and do the advanced search for 1980 to 1989

I collect and paint miniatures too, actually. Not for Battletech, and not for wargaming in general. But I do a lot of tabletop gaming and I tend to paint minis for my characters so that I have one that really fits the character and isn't just something the GM had in a box. _________________ Winter |
