First i have to admit, of course this topic is insolently stolen from other
forums, who cares, we're a community so no need to keep silence
about our real names.
Mine is Marko, old Latin, means "dedicated to the Mars" what was the
Roman god of war, fits perfectly into my image, laugh.

My First name is Stefan
Derived from the Greek "stephanos" which means crown. The meaning is probably the crowned (victor).
There is a public holiday on December 26 in honour of Stephen, the first martyr from the 1st century.
(I am baptized on December 26th) _________________ That's the beauty of music. They can't take that away from you. (Andy Dufresne - The Shawshank Redemption)

Well my real name is Rachel. Which comes from the Bible. From what I have been told the meaning of the name is "ewe or lamb", which means "innocence and gentility of a rose" or "lovely". Which makes me laugh. Because I am not innocence or gentility(whatever that means). Maybe lovely....
Now just for fun I will tell you what my username means. But take care!!! The logic behind the name is so profound that it is known to make people's head explode by the sure genius of it all. You have been warned!
I like Fairies and I like Cats......hence the name Fairycat
Pure genius. _________________ I cannot be responsible for future messages, as apparently my cat has learned to type! Ahh! Here she comes! |

Ak-Mal Owner
Ak - state code for Alaska
Mal - Short Malamute
Owner - as in possessor
I own a couple of Alaskan Malamutes.
One day we hope to be able to open a kennel, start a nordic dog rescue here in the mid-west, and breed Malamutes.

I think the meaning of this thread is to give your real name and not your nickname explained.
I think on a forum of another station there is a thread where you are ask to explain your nickname. So I have made a new thread.

Great thread Blasph!
My first name is Sébastien, in english Sebastian.
Quote: |
From the Roman name Sebastianus which meant "from Sebaste" in Latin. Sebaste was the name a town in Asia Minor, its name deriving from Greek σεβαστος (sebastos) "venerable" (a translation of Latin Augustus, the title of the Roman emperors). |
Glad to know I'm venerable |

My first name is Jeri. And I can't find a meaning for it anywhere. My mom made it up because there were lots of men named Gerald on her side of the family, but she didn't want me to be a Geraldine (Thank *insert your diety here*). _________________ "I told you, I don't think it's a good idea to go out with the boss." My real name is Marc, which is from the French, marchier, to trample, march... also, the residue left after pressing a fruit, especially grapes, or the brandy made from the same residue.
Fittingly enough, I have worked as a salesperson in the wine industry, and am drinking wine now. Imagine that! _________________ "The question isn't 'What are we going to do today?'-- It's 'What *aren't* we going to do today?'" |
